Bought the one transportable external stiff drive to back up my aperture photo library on my mac pro. The reason i wanted a transportable hdd was to keep a back up of my photo library off-site through doing a back up once a week.mounting to a mac running os x 10.5.8 (leopard) was no problem and the drive was immediately detected and shown as toshiba. The box states Toshiba HDDR640E04XR Drive agreeable with os x 10.4 and windows xp/vista and will presumably work with a windows 7 and a linux os. The usb 2.0 interface is fast and the drive itself does not require external capability as it comes from the usb interface. The usb 2.0 cable is included with the one hdd, although its short. When accessing the drive for read/write there is a blue led which indicates activity. The well-mannered thing is that the one drive doesn’t seem to procure hot and aesthetically is quite appealing in its blue color. Fit and finish is superb as well.
