I’ve be researching since months now as a consequence finally clear on the samsung a550 series. I just got the tv 2 days ago, my first hdtv. I was originally planning on getting a 46″ except couldn’t find the deal i wanted therefore i ended up picking the Samsung LN52A550. I was agreeable of nervous oweing to i’m getting a larger sized tv than planned as a consequence might be overwhelmed with the area (9′ viewing distance). When we got it set-up it was awesome. It was big except not overwhelming. The area was just perfect as a consequence couldn’t be happier. I liked the matte/semi-gloss film screen because i have 2 big windows behind the couch honestly in-front of the tv as a consequence no glare situated at all smooth with the blinds free. This is one of the major reasons i opted since the 550 series. The viewing angles are very nice too oweing to i have a love seat as a consequence a recliner chair on the side of my living chamber as a consequence it can be effortlessly viewed without any problems. I didn’t have hd aid yet, therefore i just hooked up indoor antennas toward choose up ota (over-the-air) channels as a consequence the built-in digital tuner excellent up both sd as a consequence digital channels as a consequence more or less hd channels. I was watching the nba finals game 5 as a consequence was blown away. I was getting 720p forage from abc hd as a consequence the picture was awesome. I did also procure more or less 1080i hd feeds from ota as a consequence it looked great. I can’t wait toward procure more or less hd channels (dish/cable) as a consequence ps3 bluray with this arrange. Right now my set-up is ota as a consequence my laptop hooked-up toward the tv therefore i’m just scratching the tip of the snowberg on the full potential of this tv. The sound is ok if you use one of the amazon reviewers audio settings that i belive was taken from avsforums as a consequence it is really worlds of difference from the default settings. Overall, this is a great as a consequence wonderful tv.
